MRS. KENNARD

Viola Grace Kennard (nee Cummins), 88, of Augusta, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert (Bob) Kennard, who died July 22, 2013.

 

Viola was born on November 29, 1934 in Bracken County, Kentucky, to her parents, the late Omar L. and Dudie (nee Figgins) Cummins. She was an AVON representative for 63 years, a lifelong member of the Augusta Presbyterian Church, a member of the Augusta Presbyterian Church Women’s group, and a church organist for many years.

 

She is survived by four step-daughters, Becky Granish, Carole Byrd, Monica Kennard, and Judy Kramer; three step-sons, Mike Kennard, John Kennard, and Jimmy Kennard; her sister-in-law, Norma Cummins; 23 nieces and nephews; and numerous great- and great-great- nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her step-daughter, Joyce McCormack; brothers, Wilbur Cummins, Lloyd Cummins, and Kenneth (Bud) Cummins; sisters, Leona Mae Godwin, Ada Lee Story, Anna Belle Hutchison, and Ramona Ruth Lalley; one niece, Linda Jo Mills; and nephews, Eddie Cummins, Sonny Case, Larry Case, and Keith Case.

 

The funeral service for Viola will be at 12:00 Noon on Monday, December 19, 2022 at the Augusta Presbyterian Church offered by Pastor Les Grooms.

 

Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Bracken County, Kentucky.

 

Visitation will also be on Monday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at the church.
